OFF-WHITE C/O VIRGIL ABLOH’S FIRST STORE IN SOUTH-EAST ASIA

United States streetwear brand Off-white c/o Virgil Abloh opened its first store here – also the first in South-east Asia – yesterday at 268 Orchard Road.

The label was founded by Virgil Abloh, rapper Kanye West’s creative director, and is known for its high-end streetwear, such as bomber jackets and graphic-print trousers for men and oversized denim coats with fur-trim hoods for women.

The Singapore store, named Windows, follows the opening of boutiques in other Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul.

The 1,722 sq ft store was designed by Abloh in collaboration with New York architects Dong Ping Wong and Oana Stanescu. Glass windows, concrete walls and floors, and barrisol ceiling spotlights come together to create a spacious yet warm space. An empty gallery at the front of the store doubles as a platform for deejay sets and art exhibitions.

Most of the brand’s apparel and accessories for men and women, and selected runway pieces, are available at the store.

Prices range from $90 for an iPhone 6 case to $3,090 for a leather jacket.

Windows is at 01-01, 268 Orchard Road. Open: 11am to 9pm daily.

DOVE’S NEW HAIR-CARE RANGE

Personal care label Dove has released a premium haircare range to combat damage caused by heat and chemical processes.

The Dove Advanced Hair Series Regenerate Nourishment collection is infused with ingredients, including a red algae and a Keratin Nutri complex, which the label claims nourish distressed and over-processed hair and replenishes hair proteins for stronger locks.

The collection includes a shampoo ($13.90 for 250ml), conditioner ($13.90 for 250ml) and a serum-in-oil ($17.90 for 50ml).

The shampoo and conditioner have a light and refreshing fragrance with notes of sandalwood, white musk, water orchid and green tea. The serum-in-oil is said to be absorbed easily into the hair without leaving it feeling greasy, strengthen brittle hair and keep hair soft and supple.

The Dove Advanced Hair Series Regenerate Nourishment products are available at Watsons and Guardian stores.

MUGLER TARGETS THE YOUNG WITH NEW FRAGRANCE

French fashion and beauty brand Mugler is set to release the Angel Muse Eau de Parfum that it hopes will draw younger customers.

British model Georgia May Jagger, 24, the face of the Angel perfume line since 2014, also fronts the new perfume’s campaign.

Past models for the line include Jagger’s mother Jerry Hall and actresses Naomi Watts and Eva Mendes.

The new scent has food-based notes and earthy notes of hazelnut cream and woody vetiver. It comes in a bottle described by the label as a “cosmic pebble” (above).

The Angel Muse EDP – priced at $115 for 30ml and $164 for 50ml – will be available from Sunday at major department stores including Takashimaya, Metro Paragon, Tangs VivoCity, Robinsons The Heeren, and at Sephora at Ion Orchard.

A pop-up booth for the perfume will run at concept store Manifesto at 02-19 Capitol Piazza, from today to Dec 31.
