We know that Agent Provocateur has tapped dancers in the past with its campaign last year featuring Teyana Taylor. For Fall/Winter 2019, the lingerie brand has gone all-out with a fully choreographed campaign featuring a slew of dancers.
The video is based on a fictional place called Club AP. Built as a fantasy world in a pink-hued parallel dimension, the club is run by women in a secret location and is a place where people can tap into their alter ego. From vogueing to ballet, the video features a range of dance, representing a ritualistic aspect to desire while also giving space for freedom and letting go of all inhibitions.
The collection features a mix of lace and strap pieces. High-neck, halter-style tops are contrasted with barely-there, strappy fabric. If you’re looking for something that makes you shine, the range includes studded bras and embellished playsuits as well as sparkly chokers, bracelets and body chains. Corsets highlight the feminine physique and for a more editorial look, the Rozlyn caged waspie gives dimension to the hips.
The campaign was produced by an all-woman team. The creative director, Sarah Shotton, released the following statement about the video:
” Agent Provocateur’s Autumn/Winter 19 campaign is inspired by the new hedonism: the feeling that comes with looking after yourself, pushing your body to its limits and an unapologetic expression of kinky, sexiness and fun. We wanted the campaign to highlight the sisterhood coming together, exploring how dancing can make you feel alive and how wearing AP can transform you. The diverse troop of women shows how it feels to be a woman in 2019 in an Agent Provocateur way.”
