Anyone who’s read my article on Something Wicked’s handcuffs knows I have a bit of a soft spot for the brand. And how could I not? They are a beautiful blend of fashion and sex, knowing how to adorn the body in just the right manner to make it exquisitely enticing.
Designed by Leanne Brooke, winner of New Designer of the Year 2011 at the UK Lingerie Awards, Something Wicked is simply the definition of indulgent and directional intimate apparel. Leanne first rose to fame when she began her provocative lingerie business Obey My Demand. The unique luxury brand gained a cult following of celebrity fans including Lady Gaga herself. Therefore, it is no surprise that Something Wicked is the perfect showcase of Leanne’s strengths in design and craftsmanship. Her ability to create stunning lingerie is the long awaited answer to all who have searched endlessly for pieces that empower and seduce
For AW13, Something Wicked brings us a softer, loungewear range entitled ‘Sophia’. The collection features blackberry and blush hues of sheer silk accented with bold black straps. Pieces are truly elegant in form with cheeky details such as with a sensual peephole on the back of a pair of briefs.
The collection is a thoughtful play on the concept of sheer. Translucent silk is layered and pleated to cover the chest more conservatively while loungewear pieces act as an accentuation of the body, sheathing it through a thin veil of fabric. The overall effect is one of pure anticipation. Looking at the photos from the lookbook, as the model changes positions for the camera more evocative details announce themselves, causing onlookers to quicken with excitement and the wearer to revel in glamorous design.
